Sharon had believed in the job, never questioned it—until that day…
She handed the iPad to the new guy.
He laughed. “No papyrus scroll?”
Sharon rolled her eyes. “This is the schedule—careful, it fluctuates. You can sort by date, likelihood, cause, or search for people.”
“What got you fired?”
“I…interfered.”
He frowned. “Why?”
Sharon sighed. “There was a boy. Street kid, played guitar. Had a pet mouse. I was supposed to take his pet, but…”
New guy laughed. “You lost your job over a mouse?”
Sharon passed him the robe and scythe. “Better the job than my soul.”
