I’m walking in your shoes today, crushing stripes of sunshine to pieces with them. I put the pieces in my mouth and suck on them like lemons, store their light under my tongue. On my way to the bridge, I collect smiles and laughter, stuff them inside my pockets. Beautiful words from people passing by I put in my bag, words like love, comet, forever.
I empty my pockets above the Pacific Ocean. Toss my bag high up till it rains glow and stars. Open my mouth wide and holler your name.
Gifts for you, beautiful, down there, beneath the waves.
Whether following ashes or a loved one who jumped, you’re alive today with a story to tell. Thanks, Cristina.

Thank you! We all leave our fingerprints on the surface of this world. Seeking them and making sure they will not be erased is important. Thank you for the comment!
