
I gave her two pills. Or, was it three? I don’t remember. One was very large. Maybe, it was four? She had a hard time swallowing the first. I told her she must not worry. The beginning is the hardest part. Five? She kept looking at me with anxiety etched on her face. I told her she must not feel. She must hurry. They will be here soon. Six? Seven? The pills became easier for her as time dragged on. Eight, nine, ten? I remember now. It was exactly twenty-three pills. That’s when I stepped back from the mirror and collapsed.
Great twist ending! Caught me completely by surprise. Liked it a lot.
