People just aren’t friendly anymore. At least, they aren’t to me.
I know I shouldn’t take it personally, but I can’t help it. I try to be nice, but it seems like the nicer I am, people are still rude.
Like tonight at the grocery store. I was checking out and I said to the pretty cashier, “Chilly this evening, isn’t it?”
She just goes, “Hmm.” Seriously?
She wasn’t the only one, of course, just the most blatant.
Glad I’m home.
“Hi, Bill! How was your day?”
Ugh. My annoying neighbor, Leslie.
“Hey,” I say, hurrying to get in my apartment.
HAHAH! love that. Beautifully told, funny and actually quite poignant too – someone not understanding his own behaviour.
Nicely done! The end made me laugh. A beautifully observed piece about how we often fail to see our own behaviour.
a good critique of one of our many many hypocrisies as a specie.
This made me laugh!! Great job!
A great story…seriously!
Guess Leslie — presumably that’s a woman — wasn’t pretty enuf!
So true and very funny!
Thank you everyone for the kind comments. I really appreciate it.
That was awesome Billy!! Makes you look in the mirror!
Clever and funny.
A lot of self-reflection inspired by 101 words…
