The children listen to their Grandfather’s scary stories, clearly illustrated with shadow puppets on the wall. That night, the tale is a sure-enough frightful one. They battle hard to fall asleep.
Suddenly, a dark figure passes in front of the night light. They scream with all their might, and their Grandfather darts in to see what is wrong with them.
“A shadow in your room!” With their hearts in their mouths, they point a finger at a dark shape moving around the wall.
Their Grandfather examines the figure carefully, and then says,
“One of my puppets is misbehaving. Again!”
Effective in all its layers. I loved this.
This is clever, and could provide the building blocks for a much longer and rather dark story.
Great little story. Love it!
