Full of Stardust

By Peter Caunt

The new year sky was bursting with a blaze of color and sound.

“Grandma would have loved this.”

He looked at his daughter as emotion welled up in his throat. “I know. But we’ve tried to do our best for her.”

“She told us how she wanted to be celebrated. It’s everything she could have hoped for.”

“So do you want to do the honors, Ellen?”

She nodded and lit the fuses of the last two rockets, then stood back beside him and watched the multicolored explosions scatter the last memory of her Grandma as she became one with the universe.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

Remembering the dead could be a celebration of the life. I’d opt for fireworks ?
