Good Morning

November 21, 2015 3 Comments

Good Morning

By Chris Jones

After you left, I was…well, I hit bottom. Getting out of bed each day was the hardest thing to do. The second hardest? Making a bowl of cereal. If there was milk available, that is. Otherwise, I’d just suffer through the hunger until lunch. I never finished my meals.

Time played its paradox—the days lasted forever. Looking back, I don’t know how eight months disappeared so quickly.

But one day, without warning, it got better.

I woke up next to your bed and looked at you. I wondered whether you could dream during a coma.

And then you blinked.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.
