Mother always had short hair. She didn’t care for the maintenance of long hair, and never liked to use special products or partake in elaborate beauty rituals. So when I saw her in the bathroom one day brushing a white colored cream through her hair I was puzzled. I asked what the cream was for and she replied, “It’s to make my hair grow long, to make Daddy happy.”
It must have worked, because that night when I awoke from a nightmare and stumbled into my parents’ bedroom, laying on top of Daddy was a beautiful woman with long, flowing hair.
Loved the unexpected shock in the last paragrap, Kialy.
I liked this very much. The surprise at the end left me thinking–as all good stories should.
Many truths within (much more than a strand).
