“Can I have a rabbit, Mum?”
“There’s no room, dear.”
“A dog?”
“Honey, they’re even bigger.”
I didn’t like taking ‘no’ for an answer. Everybody said I was very like my Mum.
I brought the hamster home and hid it for nearly two weeks under my bed. Food was our downfall. Mum found the droppings, told me it was good for nothing, a waste of my time and money. I didn’t have money so I thought I had better help Mum find it.
Mum took the hamster to the back door and threw it out, just like she did with Dad.
Great story! And you always need to toss out the good-for-nothing stuff…perfect ending.
Dear ol’ Dad’s droppings must have been his downfall!
