Happy Anniversary

December 9, 2021 9 Comments

By Andy Lind

You’d think Brad would have appreciated the gift. It was our one year wedding anniversary! No, my ungrateful husband complained about my thoughtful present like he complains about everything else. God, he is such a whiner. Name any subject and he’ll find the cloud in the silver lining. But his number one complaint is always about money, so you’d think if I stopped the biggest drain on our budget he would be happy. I mean, if I were in his shoes, I would love it if someone killed my psycho ex-wife and wrapped her body in a bow for our anniversary.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

Great little story! With all his whining, I wonder when Brad will be wrapped up in a bow?
