“What’s that?” Doug asked.
“I bought you a book,” Doris answered.
“I’m out of work and we’re broke. Every penny counts!”
“It was fifty cents at a yard sale,” said Doris. “It’s about hockey. You’re a fan; enjoy it.”
Doug frowned. “I’m returning it and getting our money back.”
He grabbed the book and got up to leave. Something fell out. He picked it up.
“What’s that?” asked Doris.
“It can’t be!” said Doug.
“What?”
“It’s a mint condition Maurice ‘The Rocket’ Richard 1951 rookie card!”
“Who?”
“The NHL’s all-time goal leader. I’ll bet it’s worth $10,000!”
“He scores!” laughed Doris.
