He danced and he dated and he died.
That was his life from beginning to end. He sucked milk from his mother’s nipple, juice from his beaker cup, lager from his pint glass, whiskey from his tumbler, and fluids from his IV drip. His first breath gave him life; his final haggard intake robbed him of his humanity.
But between those bookending moments he lived. Always striving for more, he had no regrets when his time finally came. He’d danced whenever he could, dated whomever he met. Such was the same with his death. It came swiftly and he embraced it.
GREAT STORY! Everyone should read this when older and contemplating their mortality or living in their prime in their own La Vida Loca!
That was really good. The first line totally got me.
Wonderful. A lifetime in a few words.
Well-written and uplifting.
Wow! Such power in so few words – great job. I agree with the comment above, however, I believe it should be read by everyone drawing a breath.
Yes, well done. Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone could enjoy their life as much as him.
A really excellent piece of writing.
Great story!
Outstanding! : )
I especially loved, “He sucked milk from his mother’s nipple, juice from his beaker cup, lager from his pint glass, whiskey from his tumbler, and fluids from his IV drip.”
A life well lived–on his own terms. Liked it.
I want to be him. I’m 70+ and hope for this joie de vivre. At least I’m still dancing. LOVED this!
Beautiful!
Absolute perfection.
