By Brigitta Scheib
She rubs her hands back and forth under the warm water. Suds build up on her knuckles. The bubbles roll in the bathroom sink, turning pink and blue, the light reflecting from the smooth, round surfaces.
She watches her palms move in the flowery soap scent and sees their years together etched there in grooves and creases, physical chronicles of her existence, a map of survival.
Before reaching for the towel, she flicks tiny droplets into the sink. Something loosens, and her platinum band clinks against the dull porcelain surface, humming around the drain before falling into the void and disappearing.
Wow!! The sensory experience. The powerful ending. Wow!!
