He lounges on his throne—the parapet of the derelict brewery, a huge brick skeleton with the canal soaking its foundations. The wall drops six storeys at his back.

I move in closer and press my lips to his. By exposing the precariousness of his position of power, I am declaring war.
We fight; he loses balance. What they say is true. Love conquers all.
