“Hey lady, eat this fruit. It’ll make your hair shiny.”
Eve took a bite and understanding crossed her face.
The serpent thought, Such simple, ignorant creatures He made.
As the serpent gloated, Eve took a stick, dislodged him, and proceeded to pound him relentlessly.
“I don’t understand,” cried the battered serpent. “Eating from the Tree of Knowledge should’ve made you ashamed and expelled from the Garden.”
“True, but this isn’t that Tree,” replied Eve as she continued to pummel the serpent. “It’s a common error; one is often mistaken for the other with disastrous result. This is the Tree of Wisdom.”
I love this empowering twist on the apple eating!
Always nice when a story has a surprise ending, especially if it gives you something to chew on. Nice job, Les Tomley. Hope to see more if your work here.
This made me grin – loved the twist!
Loved this, Les!! When you only get 101 words, each has to be chosen and placed with great care. Great job, can’t wait until your next publishing!!
