Tears made his eyes shimmer. “You are so beautiful, baby.”
She just smiled. “When are you coming back?”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be back in a few hours. See you, baby,” he whispered to her and touched the screen.
She waved goodbye.
He turned the screen off. Quiet hum of the machines filled the room.
“She seems happy,” he said to the technician next to him.
“She is, and she’ll stay like that forever. You can log in anytime to check up on her. She’ll be waiting for you in our afterlife database.”
He nodded. He will join her in no time.
Orweliian. “The machines cometh!.” Well written.

I have always wondered where this technological progress will lead us. And where do we draw the line? I have some longer stories on the subject, that don’t fit this format. Maybe you will stumble across them somewhere in the vastness of internet. Anyway, thanks for the comment.
Sad but beautiful. Great job!
Thank you for your comment.
Good twist ending. Nice sci-fi tales in a very few words. Liked it!
