In the ballroom of an impressively shiny hotel, the world’s greatest jewel thief is ordering another drink. He’s trying to, anyway. Right now, he’s laughing too hard.
He needs a night like this. To get to this hotel, he had to travel 4,000 miles as three different people. Even the friends who were waiting here for him didn’t think he’d make it.
But son of a bitch, he did make it, because he’s the best. Two of those friends are laughing with him now and for the first time in over three months, he feels safe.
He doesn’t know I’m here.
Beautifully done. One simple last sentence. Bravo.
Smiling! Fun!
Well done!
Great. Feels much bigger than its 101 words.
Love the twist at the end!
Great and succinct last line. Perfect.
