He had clearly misunderstood. My email stated that I would not be available for the entire month. He took that to mean that I would be absent that whole time. His version was reported to my boss, who then told her assistant to send me an email letting me know that I would have to rectify the situation, that a month’s absence would not be tolerated under any circumstances. I informed the assistant that this was not the case and to please clarify this with our boss, by which time I received an email in my inbox: ‘you’re fired.’ Very clear.
Liked this wee “Tower of Babel” tale. Good job.
I like this story a lot. It is fast paced while remaining steady. Well done!
thanks for reading, Bobby and Carinna!
A story about email slavery. I liked it.
