“You were right, Andrew. I never should’ve insisted we go to the Día de los Muertos festival,” Jennifer said. “I know you dislike going to those kinds of celebrations and being around thoughtless people who sneeze and cough in your face. It was selfish of me, and I apologize.”
He didn’t reply. She continued.
“It was fun, though. The food and music were fantastic, and so were the costumes. It was exciting and I rather enjoyed it.”
He maintained his stony silence.
Jennifer knelt, placed flowers on his grave. “I’m going again next year, because now I have someone to celebrate.”
