George, a sick old man who lived alone, hadn’t been seen for a week. A concerned neighbour informed police. I responded.
The neighbour supplied a ladder and I entered the house through an open bedroom window. I moved quietly from room to room. No one was around, but one upstairs room was locked. With some trepidation, I forced the door. No one was inside.
George was gone. On a desk were some faded documents, and a photograph of a young man in a Hitler Youth uniform. It had been sent by the Nazi-hunters of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles.
That was different. Good thinking!
Thank you for your feedback, Cathy.
Excellent.
Thanks very much, Mary.
What a shock! I didn’t expect this!
I’m glad there was an element of surprise. Thank you Rosemary.
Very unique. Tell so much in just 101 words. The end was absolutely unexpected!
And after you complete the story, the title totally hits you. Well done!
Thank you for your comments Meghashri.
