At Duffy’s Tavern the farmer ordered champagne.
A lady sitting next to him confided, “I just ordered a glass of champagne, too.”
“What a coincidence,” he replied, turning. “I’m celebrating.”
“So am I!” beamed the lady.
“What a coincidence,” said the farmer, and they toasted. He asked, “What are you celebrating?”
“After years of infertility, today my gynecologist told me I’m pregnant.”
“What a coincidence!” he exclaimed. “I’m a chicken farmer. After years of infertility, all my hens are finally laying.”
“Amazing!” she giggled. “What happened?”
“I used a different rooster,” he explained.
The lady smiled slyly, nodding, “What a coincidence.”
Pretty sly ending
Love it!
Funny!
Oh, very nice. The repetition of the phrase “What a coincidence.” Not only sets up the ending, it provides a nice rhythm for the reader. KUDOS.
lol
Outstanding story. Laughs aplenty induced in 101words. That’s an accomplishment.
I’m still laughing. Such a great little twist I certainly didn’t see coming!
That’s a keeper.
Lol. It made me LOL!
Wonderful! Please, let’s have more of your work!
Very funny. I expected “fowl” play but did not see that coming. Awesome.
