Things were swell. My kids were healthy and I’d finally gotten a promotion at the clinic. Then, strolling home one evening, a runner blasted by me. Keeled over.
Without thinking, I gave the guy the kiss of life.
Later, a woman I’d been seeing, Brie, did something she’d never done before. Brie left a message on my machine.
Now bear in mind that at the time, I was sipping a celebratory brandy, warming my feet by the open fire. As the message played, my wife sat directly across from me.
“That was my husband you saved, you idiot! You ruined everything!”
Good one, didn’t see that coming.
Love the surprise ending!
Hello Raymond,
Perfectly executed, and show no good deed goes unpunished.
