“What do you reckon, Mike?” Gordon twirled his hammer nervously.
The foreman withdrew his head from the hole and remained stoic as left the bedroom. His crew heard him go down the hall and into the next room over.
“It definitely doesn’t come out this side, lads.” His voice came from less than three feet away but the impossible vista visible through the wall stretched on for miles.
“So, what do we do?” Gordon ventured. “Notify the authorities?”
“Board it up, leave it for someone else to find,” Mike said. “Can you imagine the paperwork involved in reporting an inter-dimensional gateway?”
Love the sci-fi vibe
Conflict avoidance is a key to survival! Well structured story…only problem is what appears to be a missing word in the second paragraph (…stoic as (he) left…).
Overall very interesting and different.
Very witty. Loved it!!
Nice surprise ending.
Lovely reveal. Enjoyed it.
LOVE this one!
A short, sweet SF vignette. Just my kind of story! Great job.
