Labor-2412 A.D.

October 27, 2015 1 Comment

Labor – 2412 A.D.

By John Grabski

Clone Omphalos rocked forward, raised his massive bulk to his feet. He turned to face the sea of worker drones waiting to hear him speak.

“Today marks the end of an era,” he said. “The end of the common man and his pointless dream.”

The GOOG, digital bewitcher and knower of all, had determined the net-present value of humans had fallen to zero. Now, with the stratum finally expunged, the GOOG foresaw a more efficient, capable world.

“You are the future, the high gear, low cost serf,” he shouted. “And I am Omphalos, your leader, sprung from the rib of Sisyphus.”

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

A new beginning…of the end of humanity… or is it? Very thought provoking.
