Ted sat on the cold, wet bench, the chill of the morning breeze and drizzled rain against his face. Two young boys splashed and tittered in the puddles until their father scolded them. Droplets of water glistened on the tree leaves as they swayed in tune with the wind. The park was full of life on that dreary day. People went about their business, talked on their cell phones, and bustled to the nearby office building. Ted sat quietly and took it all in. His life was the same; retired, no wife, no children, his days filled at Pleasant Crest Park.
What a well-crafted little story … and interesting take on “pleasant.” Thanks.
Great story!
The story pivots cleverly on the word pivot. Like it.
Ooops… I meant pleasant.
A wonderful story of vicarious living, and being contented with one’s lot in life.
Thank you everyone for your positive feedback.
