Lola

“Her name is Lola and she is the love of my life.”

“Ah, well look at her. She’s beautiful.”

Two weeks later I received the wedding invitation. Their pictures were, undeniably, adorable. A good gag to hang on the fridge.

Must admit it was funny at first. But turns out, it wasn’t a joke.

They visited me before the big day. “Tom,” I said, “you can’t be serious…”

“She listens to me, Frank.” He was eerily confident. “She never complains, never argues. She’s the perfect companion.”

He had a point. German Shepherds are quite loyal.

“Will you have an open bar?”
