An idiot in a blue suit stood at the podium. A few million dollars had failed to buy him an education and competent speech writers. People who’d help him say something of substance.
He had a very intimidating presence that made you unconsciously utter things to him like “if you don’t mind” and “if that’s ok with you.” A loudmouth.
People, mesmerized by his boastfulness, swarmed to him like insects flying blindly into the zapper.
Why?
Tired of feeling in the dark, he fooled them into believing he was a common man doing things for the common people, the greater good.
Another example of the intelligent dominating the herd .His education doesn’t matter, it is the results that count.
Thank you for writing this. Your words echo the sentiments of many.

Idiots get idiot leaders, bullies get bullies. Often both. Unfortunate karma.

Reminds me of a fellow who tried to conquer the world back in World War II.
