This was her life.
Anxiously watching the clock, willing it to stop ticking slowly towards his return.
Every day the same, filled with waiting, worry, and nervous anticipation—an uncertainty that filled her with dread.
She loved him greatly, but like the flip of a coin—heads or tails—or the flick of a switch—on or off—it was too close to call.
Of course she never thought it would be like this, even though she should have seen the signs; it was written all over his fists.
She always wished they wouldn’t, but Love and Hate came home nightly.

Powerful.
What a powerful piece! I love how you inputted everything so subtly and yet it still packed a ‘punch’.
Thankyou !
Great comment on our sometimes not so good side. Good story.
