Love Ever After

Love Ever After

By Monica Wenzel

Cinderella told herself she had everything she wanted. A new home in a palace. More jewels and satin dresses than she’d ever seen. A prince whom every woman in the kingdom dreamed of marrying.

She fought a rush of panic when she saw him come into the garden. He smiled as he walked toward her. She forced a smile.

She didn’t love him. She knew that. How could she after knowing him for three weeks? Love can grow, she told herself. She pretended to love her stepmother and stepsisters. She must pretend again until she loved her prince. Hopefully, she would.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

A dream is a wish your heart makes, or so goes the children’s tale. And if our Mr. right flips to our Mr. wrong, no amount of time or false love will heal the wounds of a wrong turn, Good story, Monica.

I don’t like the retelling of old tales, which seems to be a current trend … but for a quick hit, I thought this had merit (mostly because it takes place after the fairy tale ended). Well done ~!~

Great use of her life before the prince. Perfect context.
