Irene held the thin strip of gauze out to her roommate. “Tie this for me, will you, Mary?”
“Jeez, Renie, why bother? I know it’s flu season, but this piece of crap won’t stop any germs. If you’re that worried about catching something, buy a real one.”
Irene held her long brown hair away from her neck while Mary tied the face mask in place.
Checking herself in the mirror, Irene gave a satisfied nod. “Influenza germs don’t bother me. It’s the Tom, Dick, and Harry germs I’m trying to avoid,” she snickered. “Now I can ride the subway in peace.”
hahaha! Cute!
Not a bad idea. Might be healthier if we all wore masks–especially in crowds! Humorous story.
