“Mr. Whittingston, want a cup of coffee, tea, or chocolate?”
Welt shakes his head in response.
Renee bursts through the double doors somewhat more energetic than her intention. Her quick survey locates Welt, and then she beelines for him.
Welt leaps to Renee’s chair, pulling it out.
“Thank you, Welt.”
Reclaiming his seat, Welt pushes his hands along his thighs to dry them.
“The leaves are at their peak. I just love to walk in the woods in the autumn,” Renee mentions.
Welt searches the table for an opener. “Ugh, yeah.”
“You like to walk?”
“Ugh, yeah.”
“Good, then after breakfast.”
Love that Welt. Reminds me of my much younger days. I suppose we all can’t be great conversationalists! Great job, Jeffrey!
