Kara’s eyes stray to the entrance of their favorite milk tea café and find one of her friends waving.
Oh, no! Belinda—why is she early today?
She panics but then starts counting in her head all the bills she has in her wallet today. Belinda, who is normally late, coming early today could mean just one thing.
In a few seconds, Belinda sits down beside her. Subdued eyes meet anxious ones.
I don’t have enough today!
“I’m moving,” Belinda says.
Kara frowns. “W…what?”
“I don’t even have time to be with you now, Kara. I just thought you’d be early.”
