“Chirp chirp, Kadee, Meeyow, Whooo, Chee chee, Fee fee, Chip chip, Chirp.”
“Where is that noisy bastard?” Blue Jay asked.
“There? You gotta be kidding,” said Crow. “That ugly little gray thing?”
“Crow, put your talons up,” Nightingale advised. “It’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.”
“The Cherokee called it Huhu, ‘The Innocent,’” said Owl, flapping his wings, “but get into its nest and it goes psycho. Would take on a hawk!”
“Where’s your voice, little one?” Swallow wondered. “What’s the sound of your call?”
Silence…
Dove reminded them all: there is a time to speak, and a time to listen.
Awesome read…
This is a very good story that reminds me of folklore but it is a new take on the traditional stories.
Disturbed a mockingbird in his nest last night and he gave me grief for an hour. Loved the personality of the different birds.
I love this!
I loved the message.
