The little girl had been warned not to come into these woods—bad things flocked to the place like flies did to rot—but she had thus far ignored the advice.
Light dripped down from the silvery orb in the sky, cascading over the trees and flooding the forest floor. It was so bright that the clearing she stood in looked as it might in the daytime.
Steeped in light, the girl was drawn to a dense, black clump of trees from which a pair of silver eyes appeared; they flitted between the shadowy trunks, reflecting the light of the moon.
Nice imagery!
Nice writing, but this seemed more like the introduction to a longer story. It certainly has many great possibilities. Would really like to see you develop this into a fuller story.
I like it and I liked the ending, leaving us to wonder.
like it.
You did build a wonderful image but would like to see what story comes out of it. Great suspense but I was ready for the final, mind blowing punchline.
