Marty stumbled into his broadcast chair after dashing back from the toilet.
He heard the familiar final strains of ‘Stairway to Heaven’ squawking through his headset. He would catch hell again for that; this song wasn’t on the playlist.
But the sun was nearly up. The traffic reports were rolling in. The drivers on the freeway and the parents rushing their kids out the door for school wouldn’t care that his head was on fire and his guts were still churning. They just wanted his cheerful, energetic radio voice greeting them with their coffee.
Marty switched on the mic.
It’s showtime.
It’s true. They are just people. Good one.
Whether you’re hurting or not–the show must go on. Thumbs up, J. Scott!
Wow! Great story!
