She never notices the pain anymore. When that’s all you feel, it’s all you feel. Ms. Jenkins sits regal as any queen. Watching T.V.
When she married there were two in the nursery and one on the way. That man never had any sense. Who needed him anyway? Not her. She kept his name just for spite.
The children never come to see her anymore. Maybe cards and flowers on Mother’s Day. She dreams of California where her daughter lives. Ms. Jenkins is jealous, if you really must know. She can almost hear the waves of the ocean over the T.V.
Story of a lonely, mean-spirited individual–very well done.
