My laundry machine went berserk, rattling the pipes and destroying my nerves. To cheer up, I posted on a mental health site, ‘I need a home repair support group.’
People dismissed my joke: ‘This is an anxiety and depression forum.’ Then I read about famous comedians who took their lives, how the world asked in shock, “Aren’t comics happy?” But I understood. They might’ve sought a home repair support group too.
If we can cry tears of joy, we can laugh tears of pain. So instead of just laughing, I allowed myself to cry while searching for a new laundry machine
