By Kevin Taylor
The day we met, you told me that you’d never seen a shooting star. You said that you couldn’t look up at the night sky because the stars made you feel insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I told you that the stars are proof we’re not alone, and you said you could love a man like me.
The day you left, I felt both insignificant and alone. Sitting on the back porch of the home we shared together, I gazed up toward the heavens as a shooting star cut through the stillness. I wondered: Was it you, my love?
The arc of a relationship, nicely told.
Thanks very much!
