Name Changer

NAME CHANGER

By Luca C

My parents often remind me of their unconditional love. Now, I’m sure they do love me…but why name me after the Lord’s son?

Yes, my name is Jesus.

I’ve gotten pretty used to it: from joke birthday messages on Christmas Day to people ‘worshipping’ me in the hallways.

But wait. Something impossible just occurred! Mrs. Bridge interrupted her own monotone Maths lecture to shout: “Wake up, Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!” Like a passionate preacher she sent the class into hysterics. The obnoxious laughter was interrupted by a divine voice: “His name’s so cuuuute!”

Creole goddess Christophine Bleu has changed my life.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

That was really sweet, unexpected in that it wasn’t the usual cynical twist you often find connected with things Jesus!
