I don’t blame the scribe. He had probably been through all the fuss of a ritual cleansing and was on his way to the temple. If he helped me, he would probably have to do the whole thing again.
As for the Levite, he probably had the same problem. I respect his decision to leave me alone.
Imagine my dismay when one of those filthy Samaritan scum came along and tried to help. I was too weak to resist. Just as well he didn’t know I’d been beaten for being too free with my comments about Samaritans. I still hate them.
