The train was late, again. Nina tapped her boot against the platform, watching the pigeons argue over a crust. She wasn’t running from anything, she told herself. Just needed space. Air. Maybe peace.
Her phone buzzed; another message from Sam. She didn’t read it. Instead, she dropped the phone in the trash. Gone. Just like that.
The train roared into view, wind whipping her hair. She stepped on, sat by the window, and didn’t look back. An old woman across the aisle smiled, like she knew. Nina smiled too. Not everything needed a plan. Sometimes you just get on and go.
