Not My Fault!

Not My Fault!

By Mark W. Johnson

“I wish I never got you, ” Jack said.

“You wish lots of things never happened. You got her drunk. You got her pregnant. You dumped her. It’s all your fault.”

“It was all accidents. I didn’t do any of that on purpose. It’s not all my fault!”

Jack heard the sirens approaching.

“You’re just a plastic fish on the wall. You can’t talk. This is all just a dream.” He looked around his bedroom. “It’s just a dream.”

“Keep telling yourself that,” the fish replied. They were pounding on the front door. “Keep telling yourself that and surely you’ll wake up.”

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.
