I woke up in darkness. I broke the shell around me and more darkness flowed in. I swam upwards through it and pushed out the other side. I touched the air and it burned. It was so cold. My head breached the surface, and I took my first breath of air. I could smell decaying flowers and the damp earth I was covered in. I tasted the cold with the flavors of life all around. I looked out and saw the world for the first time, in rows of grey stones all lined up as far as the eye could see.
Great, eerie graveyard imagery–and the emerging of–what strange beast or angel? Really liked this one.
