“You lose, gambler.” Hades sneered as he yanked on Mikkos’ soul, but it wouldn’t budge. Hades glowered at his scribe, Orcus.
“Beg pardon, your Darkness…there seems to be a dispute concerning proper ownership.”
Hades fumed as Orcus dug through a sheaf of documents.
“Yes,” Orcus confirmed, “it seems the soul was also lost to Ramses in a game of dice.”
The Underlord’s eyes blazed with fury.
Orcus shrank back, but read on. “Well…it seems Ramses then forfeited it to Hera, who then pawned it to Eros— Gosh, this file is a mess!”
Hades roared, but Mikkos only snickered.
“Bureaucracy is hell.”
