The family gathered for their traditional holiday meal. After the ritual carving, plates were passed according to preference: legs for youngsters, arms for mom, chest for dad. Bowls of organs, along with other succulent side dishes, were already in place on a self-serve basis. Before digging in, they took turns giving thanks. As usual, they were grateful the main course was not one of them. Next day, the local newspaper reported that another turkey farmer had gone missing. The family clucked over the mystery while finishing off their leftovers. They wondered who they should choose to fatten up for next year.
