I had failed seven subjects and was wondering how to avoid home. I was taken aback when, suddenly, Santa asked me to help him negotiate the busy junction. I saw him squinting at the traffic lights and the endless stream of speeding cars, and felt pity.
“Come on, Santa,” I offered.
Halfway across I broached the issue. “One favor deserves another.” He didn’t seem to hear. “Can you upgrade my school report?”
Santa stared blankly, looking old and decrepit.
I left him there in the center of the crossing, alone…and lost.
Serves him right. I only wanted one little present.
This story suggests poor intentions from the start. So its coal in the stocking for this little tyke.
Grinchy!
Like title like story.
