I buried the cat today. I haven’t told my girlfriend yet; I don’t know how I will. She’ll be home from work soon, and she’ll know immediately something’s wrong when her precious little furball isn’t waiting at the door for its food.
She’ll blame me, I can see it coming. Not openly, but she’ll resent me. I don’t stand a chance against her little—what was it called? She’ll make me feel guilty. We’ll argue and fight and before you know it, it’ll have been my fault.
I know what I did wrong; I should have waited until it was dead.
