“Do you want me to read it to you?”
She managed to nod.
“Why didn’t you open the door for me? I know you were home.”
It was raining outside. It must have been raining last night.
“I’m still your daughter after all.”
Imagine the horror…
“Can’t find my place in life.”
Being kept in a muddy grave…
“Inside I’ve died already.”
While she—whose love had left no room for forgiveness—was living on beneath a dry roof.
The police officer lowered the letter. “I’m very sorry.”
And the raindrops flowed down the windowpane like mocking imitations of her tears.
Wow. Such a bittersweet story. “…raindrops…like mocking…tears.” Wonderful last line. Like dark poetry. This is a Winner!
Thank you so much! That means a lot to me.
THAT was just amazing. Such a powerful story, just heart-wrenching. You have conveyed two lifetimes in 101 words. Kudos!!
Thank you!! What a lovely comment, I am happy to hear that.

Thank you so much! What a nice compliment.
