Two friends watched as a large black cube solidified in the centre of the room.
It opened and a fat ginger cat stalked out.
Amaryllis swept it up and dropped a kiss between its ears. “Boniface, how I missed you.”
“Boniface can’t drive the machine,” Domenic explained, laughing. “So I set the dials to send him into next week and back. It’s my turn.”
“How long?”
“Seventy years.”
“I’m not hanging around.”
“I’ll set the dials for a quick turn around.” He stepped into the cube, which shimmered and disappeared.
Two minutes later it solidified, and an old man stumbled out.
Good one!
Oops!
That’ll teach him to be cocky. Good thing he didn’t offer a trip to the narrator first.
haha oops can I borrow that and go back in time?
NOT a clever thing to do….
Great ending
