A robin is thought to be a sign from heaven, indicating that your lost loved one is at peace.
Spacing the fairy lights around the top of the tree was a good idea in theory, but perhaps not so much now that the remaining four feet of wire found itself bunched around the bottom in a twinkling tangle.
Artistic interpretation, we claimed. It actually looked quite good…if you squinted, that is. Or closed your eyes entirely.
“If he could see us right now, he’d be laughing,” you said.
Through our own laughter, we both saw the robin on the windowsill.
Good story. I recognize the “twinkling tangle.” I have one or two of them every Christmas.
Very sweet.
